摘要
To understand the variability of Basque, descriptions of local linguistic varieties are essential. In this article, I compile a database of monographs on varieties of Basque, and measure the space given to intonation. Most works do not address the topic, which limits the possibility of developing atlases of intonational variation. In order to understand the scant attention given to intonation, and to make progress in the study of intonational variability, I identify some specific challenges. Finally, I stress the importance of collecting sentence-level sound-corpora in local varieties.
