Generalized FGM copulas: Properties and applications

Since the range of correlation in FGM copulas is limited, we offer a new symmetric extension of it with the aim of improving the correlation coefficient range. This proposed symmetric family extends FGM copula and some of its known generalized families. The admissible range of association parameter for given FGM families will be derived and various properties of the proposed model are studied. We apply some sub-families of this new class to model a dataset of the medical science to show the superiority of presented model in comparison with the known copulas.
