The following article is an element of a 4-part series on the presentation and discussion of new design recommendations for disability compensation in the private accident insurance. The introduction to the topic and the associated basics as well as the concept of the new draft of the design recommendations for the upper and lower extremities have already been published in Die Unfallchirurgie (formerly Der Unfallchirurg) on 17 February, 18 July and 18 November 2022 [2-4].
