摘要
A series of anionic windmill-like Al-10 clusterswith different guests were synthesized and used to study their host-guestinteractions and arrangements, hydrogen-bonding network topology, and fine-tuning of optical limiting properties at the supramolecularlevel. The interest in cluster chemistrylies not only in the developmentof new types of geometric structures but also in the higher-levelconnectivity and assembly of clusters at the supramolecular level. Here, we report a novel windmill-like Al-10 cluster andconsider this geometrically unique cluster as an anionic node assembledtogether with different cationic guests such as imidazolium and guanidinium. These guests with different hydrogen-bond angles can help to obtaina series of diverse hydrogen-bonding networks and then manipulatethe stacking mode of hosts and guests. Furthermore, we realized asupramolecular approach to fine-tune the optical limiting propertiesof the cluster. This work not only enriches the host-guestchemistry of ionic windmill-like clusters but also opens up more possibilitiesfor aluminum oxo cluster-based hydrogen-bonded frameworks.
