摘要
Bombay duck is a unique fishery resource with discontinues distribution. Along the Indian coast, the fishery is mostly along the Northern Arabian Sea and Northern Bay of Bengal. The fishery is known to be influenced by environmental factors. The present study found salinity as the only significant environmental parameters having a bearing on its abundance. The satellite derived annual average salinity was incorporated in a Fox model to derive the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) for the resource along the Gujarat coast. The estimated MSY was lower than the current catches warranting management measure for the resource in the region.
