Today's needs include not only quality, flexibility, timeliness, and affordability, as well as increase in demand on environment effects. Both traditional economic and environmental criteria must be met to attain sustainable-machining and manufacturing. In separate phases of product systems, a number of indicators based on price, elapsing-time, along with quality are used to measure economic performance.
