摘要
The present work aims to examine the reciprocating wear characteristics at elevated temperatures (200(degrees)C, 400 C-degrees, and 600 C-degrees) of CoCrFeNiW0.3 + 5 at% C high entropy alloy coatings, which has been synthesized by atmospheric plasma spraying. The experimental findings pertaining to the worn surface demonstrate that an increase in testing temperature leads to a reduction in wear scar depth. The findings derived from the examination using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) revealed the existence of wear debris, an adhesive layer, craters, and scratches on the surfaces that were subjected to wear. The examination of worn surfaces using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) has shown the existence of several oxides. The presence of oxides is established while evaluating worn surfaces by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis reveals that the lack of oxide development might perhaps be attributed to the limited width of the worn track. The observed reduction in wear volume loss with increasing testing temperature may be attributable to the reaction arise inside the tribolayer and oxides formation. The energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) examination of the Al2O3 counter body indicated the presence of a transferred tribofilm. The alloy coating, namely the CoCrFeNiW0.3 + 5 at% C alloy coating, exhibits a decreased mass loss of 9.43 mg and an average coefficient of friction of 0.46 at a test temperature of 600(degrees)C. When the sample is subjected to a wear testing temperature of 600 C-degrees, the wear mass is decreased by 24.37%. The results of this investigation provide promising prospects for practical use in applications requiring high temperature wear resistance. [GRAPHICS]
