摘要:
Written memory was an essential tool for the nobility as a means of perpetuating a privileged position in the society of the Old Regime. During the Early Modern Age, the Torres y Portugal family from Jaen used the merits of their ancestors to raise the status of their lineage. A practice that allowed them to obtain benefits and positions for their members, both in the first-born and second-born line, who became active agents of the Hispanic Monarchy on both shores of the Atlantic.
