An estimate has been made of the potential of a double cascade with a carrier gas for enriching reprocessed uranium under the conditions of a multiple recycle. This scheme makes it possible to obtain low-enriched uranium with simultaneous fulfillment of limitations on concentrations of even-numbered isotopes, first of all, U-232, but is unable to prevent U-236 concentration, which entails the need for increasing U-235 enrichment. Hence, since U-236 isotope is responsible for accumulating U-232 as its daughter isotope, this results in accumulation of U-232 with a rise in the number of processing cycles and reuse.
