Remarks on the Concept and Meta-Concept of Political Representation. About a Recent Anthology

The recent appearance of an annotated Anthology of excerpts offers the opportuni-ty to revisit the many questions surrounding the definition of the concept of politi-cal representation. The selection of texts and the organisation of the book, as in the project edited by Manuela Albertone and Michel Troper, which offers a broad over-view of the many different historical and geographical contexts of representation, should necessarily address this question. The editors' attempt to find a workable solution to the problem by distinguishing between the concept and the meta -con-cept of representation is of the greatest interest, but may also raise some concerns.
