摘要
This work reports activities related to the extension project entitled TOMATEIRO$ production cost management app, developed by the Federal Institute of Goias at the Ipora campus, in partnership with the Agronomy Faculty of the Federal University of Goias. The basis for this study results from an ongoing doctorate research that entails general aspects of the fresh tomato production chain and also identifies bottlenecks and opportunities in the sector. According to the reality perceived and the potential tools aligned with producers' standpoints, a technological tool was designed to auxiliate the gathering of data related to fresh tomato production costs. This way, a free app was created for Android Studio and Netbeans devices, in Java language. It is known that tomato production has significant social-economic relevance because it fosters employment and income, the reason why it is amongst the main agricultural products in the state of Goias. However, it is important to highlight that the cultive of this culture can happen in different systems regarding the destination of the fruits: it can either be destined to fresh consumption or to industrial processing. Each purpose entails a particular production chain, with significant disparity on production costs, cultural traits and other technical and market aspects. Due to these singularities, each of these production chains requires studies and tools that can aid producers in their daily activities. Acceptance tests will be applied to producer-users after the pandemic period, so that their perception on the app regarding aspects of usability, functionality and layout may be corrected or perfected.
