摘要：
This paper analyzes the regulations on compensation for service relocations abroad. First, it presents the original rule that unified criteria, from 1924, supported by the provisions that regulated the diplomatic and consular careers at the time. Secondly, it delves deeper into each type of compensations throughout the last century. Thirdly, it examines the impact of these rules on the families of the Foreign Service public employees. Finally, it concludes with the main challenges of the current regulations.
