Influence of temperature and magnetic field on optical absorption spectra of Nd3+- doped Gd3Ga5O12

摘要
Optical transitions from the ground state I-4(9/2) multiplet to (4)G(5/2), (2)G(7/2) and (4)G(7/2) multiplets of Nd3+- doped Gd3Ga5O12 were recorded in temperature range from 4.2 to 300 K. With increasing temperature transitions from the second and third levels of I-4(9/2) multiplet became visible. Large value of the oscillator strength was obtained. The Zeeman effect was measured in fields up to 14 T. Levels splitting observed in the experiment and estimated theoretically agree satisfactory.
