China Strengthens Control on Pesticide Pollution

The Ministry of Agriculture (MA) and theMinistry of Industry and Information Tech-nology (MIIT) jointly announced to repulsethe registration for glyphosate AS (aqueoussolution) with active ingredient content lowerthan 30% from February 25th,2009.No Com-pany will be permitted to produce or sellglyphosate AS with active ingredient contentlower than 30% after December 31 st,2009.More than eighty percent of the glyphosateAS now produced in China are with a 10%content of active ingredient,much lower thanthe required 30%.All of the glyphosate 10%
