摘要
China has set up a new committee to monitor sanitation regulations and practices throughout the country. The new authority, the Chinese National Committee for Sanitation Standards, was formed at a national conference which closed in Beijing last February. It will operate under the Ministry of Health and thus will have the power to enforce sanitation standards in all aspects of daily life. The Chairman is the Vice-minister of Health, Yang Shoushan. At the Beijing meeting, 70 officials, health administrators and doctors discussed, among other things, the diagnosis and classification of occupational diseases like silicosis and the purity of public water supplies.
