Preparation of Nanometer Cerium Oxide by Microwave Irradiation and Surface Modification

摘要
Nanometer CeO2 particles were synthesized by microwave irradiation. The materials included cerium sulfate and sodium hydroxide, and surfactant was polyglycol (PEG). The products were characterized by FT-IR spectrum, XRD and TGA-DTA instrument respectively. The particle size was 24.9 nm. Nanometer CeO2 was modificated with sodium laurate in order to extend its application range. Because of cross action between the four factors, the orthogonal tests were done in order to obtain the optimum condition of modification. The results reveal that the process had environmental and rapid characteristics, the particle diameter was very small, the dispersity of samples was very good and the preparation method was apt to extend.
