The TCM external treatment of emergency cases issimple,convenient and inexpensive,and hasproved to be very effective.Following are someexamples.Blood-letting with Cupping at Shanzhong(CV17) and Dazhui (GV14) for Controlling theAcute Episodes of AsthmaA male patient,aged 52,had a history of chronicasthmatic bronchitis for more than 20 years.Onadmission,he was suffering from rapid pantingwith short breath and with his shoulders elevatedand the mouth opened,especially at night.Thesputum was thick and yellow,and difficult to spitout.Auscultation revealed mucous (sputum) rales
