普通大学开展现代远程教育的探索与实践——来自国家试点单位湖南大学的报告

The article introduces the modern distance education of Hunan University, which is one of the four pilot universities appointed by the Educational Ministry of China to conduct the project of distance education．It discusses the organizational structure，administrative mode and operative mechanics of a networking university,probing into the basic form of the networking university from the aspects of its real time multimedia interactive teaching platform,multimedia networking teaching web sites，multimedia service system for teaching resources as well as its organizatio and administration work．Based on an analysis on the features of networking multimedia and its important role in promoting new concepts and views on education，new teaching approaches and methods，new study contents and reform of curricula，the article believes that the implementation of this project nation－wide will bring about an epic change in the field of education.Summarizing the experiences of Hunan University, the report speculates about how to run a distance education university，about its administrative system and operative mechanics．The report holds that we should  run and perfect the administrative system and operative mechanics of moden distance education according to the ideology of open education to make rapid progress in this field．  establish a self－inspiring and self－developing system within universities,making it a benign circle for them to run distance education based on their existing capacities．  take advantage of modern distance education to digitize our educational information．
