Life-threatening hemobilia caused by hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm: A rare complication of chronic cholangitis

摘要：
Hemobilia is one of the causes of obscure gastrointestinalhaemorrhage.Most cases of hemobilia are of iatrogenic ortraumatic origin.Hemobilia caused by a hepatic arterypseudoaneurysm due to ascending cholangitis is very rareand its mechanism is unclear.We report a 74-year-old womanwith a history of surgery for choledocholithiasis 30 yearsago,suffering from a protracted course of life-threateninggastrointestinal bleeding.A small intestines series andendoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography revealeda chronic cholangitis with marked contrast reflux into thebiliary tree.Angiography confirmed the bleeding from apseudoaneurysm of the middle hepatic artery.Coilembolization achieved successful hemostasis.We discussedthe mechanism and reviewed the literature.
