From the dialectic of equality and difference via radical difference to radical equality? On changes in the meaning of the idea of equality within the discourse of inclusion

摘要
This article traces the relationship between equality and difference in inclusive education along central lines of discourse. It takes up the dialectic of equality and difference; Prengel's draft of a pedagogy of diversity and the concept of egalitarian difference embedded in it; the perspective of materialist disability pedagogy as well as the debates about decategorisation, a "broad" concept of inclusion, intersectionality and the critique of ableism. Against this background, the proposal of a shift in discourse away from the dialectic of equality and difference towards the dialectic between radical and relative equality is discussed.
