How to work on eroticism in classical Arabic literature classes: New challenges for university teaching

In the following article we propose a chrestomaty of medieval Arabic and Islamic erotic literature. Our main objective is to collect literary data in poetry and prose, passages and fragments of works specialized in the subject, from the first writings in Arabic, that is, pre-Islamic poetry, to the 16th-17th centuries, as later examples. With this, we intend to encourage university students to read one of the most copious genres of classical Eastern Arabic literature, while offering teachers one more tool for teaching Arabic literature.
