摘要
Diverging from conventional two-dimensional cell models, multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTS) offer a more faithful replication of tumor tissue architecture and heterogeneity, making them invaluable in various domains such as cell behavior studies and drug screening. Despite their potential, existing methods for generating MCTS suffer from drawbacks such as exorbitant costs and intricate procedures. In a recent Device paper, Hae Lin Jang and her team unveiled a cost-effective, user-friendly solution to this challenge. Their innovative device merges a capillary nozzle apparatus with a coin vibration motor, enabling the rapid and uniform formation of stable MCTS at a high throughput. This breakthrough not only addresses the limitations of current equipment but also facilitates the acquisition of more realistic preclinical test outcomes.
