摘要
The work establishes the expressions of Afro-Venezuelan identity in the state of Zulia and assesses the proposals for reparations for slavery. Participatory action research, field work and qualitative research techniques were used. It was carried out in Bobures, Caja Seca and Maracaibo. Among its results, it highlights that the Afrozulian identity is expressed in the cult to San Benito, in ancestral productive systems (sugar, cocoa, fishing), culinary customs, and others. It concludes that there is still racial discrimination and precariousness in the living conditions of this population.
