摘要
This study explored the mediating role of job search self-efficacy on the relationship between perceived employability and job search behaviour of unemployed youths in Ethiopia by using a mixed-methods approach. A sample of 300 (213 Males) unemployed youths from 6 Wolaita, Ethiopia reform towns were included. Additionally, 4 (2 Males) government workers from the youth association and social affairs office were purposefully selected for interview. The findings revealed a significant relationship between perceived employability and job search behaviour, job search self-efficacy, and job search behaviour. The structural equation modelling analysis indicated that the relationship between perceived employability and job search behaviour was positive and significant. Additionally, the interview results showed the enabling and disabling factors affecting the employability perception, job search self-efficacy, and job search behaviour of unemployed youths. The study added an original model to the existing literature concerning the internal aspects of job seekers or youths with unemployment.
