Urban street landscape design plays an important role in improving the urban environment and enhancing residents' quality of life. Traditional design and acceptance methods often rely on manual inspection, which is low efficiency and easy to be affected by subjective factors. With the rapid development of smart material technology, the use of these new materials for light image inspection provides a new way to improve the accuracy and efficiency of landscape design. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility and effect of applying light image inspection technology based on intelligent material manufacturing to street landscape design in a virtual reality (VR) system, in order to improve the accuracy of landscape design and user experience. The research has developed a new smart material that responds to changes in light and enables real-time image capture. This material was then combined with VR technology to build a virtual model of street landscape design. Through experimental comparison, the system is used to inspect and evaluate various landscape design schemes, collect data, and analyze the accuracy and efficiency of image inspection under different design schemes. The experimental results show that the application of light image inspection technology based on smart materials in VR system significantly improves the verification speed of design schemes and reduces the error rate compared with traditional methods. User feedback shows that the system is outstanding in improving design visualization and interactive experience and can effectively aid design decisions. The research shows that the light image inspection technology based on intelligent material manufacturing has a good prospect in the application of street landscape design.
