Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a disruptive technology, not exempt from controversy, that is proving useful in various areas including art and design. One of the most interesting applications is DALL-E 2, an AI language model that can generate images from textual descriptions. It has been developed since January 2021 by OpenAI, which is dedicated "to promoting responsible and ethical artificial intelligence research and working to ensure that advances in this technology are used in a responsible manner and benefit all of humanity," as stated on its website. DALL-E 2 has led to the creation of unique and original works of art. While this claim is debatable, what interests us about this technology is its use as a generator of ideas; as a starting point for creating illustrations and designs, as a technology that can help us in the ideation stage of projects in the Schools of Art and Design (EASD). In short, to create, apply, and adjust pedagogical practices in the Schools of Art and Design (EASD).
