摘要
: Subletting is a secondary housing market with scarce regulation that accommodates people with difficulty accessing housing, including foreign immigrants, especially in early stages of residential integration. Many sublet dwellings are not declared, hence the difficulty of quantifying them. This paper proposes to contribute to this sense with data from the Barcelona Sociodemographic Survey of 2017 and 2020 as a source of analysis. For this aim, households are reclassified according to kinship and origin (Spanish or immigrant). The results show that no family households in Barcelona can be an indicator of subletting situations and that the real volume of this is much higher than that declared. The proportion of no family households in the immigrant population doubles the natives, showing a greater probability of sublet housing among the former.
