摘要
The dual active bridge converter is mostly used in electric vehicle dc fast charger applications. Different types of modulation techniques can be used for dual active bridge converter control. In this paper, three modulation techniques i.e., single-phase shift modulation, triangular modulation, and trapezoidal modulation are presented. A comparison between single-phase shift modulation and triangular modulation is made and losses of both modulation techniques are analyzed to compare efficiencies. A controller for triangular modulation is designed and its performance is modeled and simulated via PLECS software. According to simulation results, the losses of the dual active bridge converter with triangular modulation are lower than half of the losses of the dual active bridge converter with single-phase shift modulation. The efficiency is increased from 95% to over 98% with triangular modulation.
