摘要
This technical report presents the structural concepts and design approach of a 230 m tall high-rise building using mid-story isolation in Roppongi, Tokyo. The response reduction by seismic isolation on tall buildings over 200 m is less effective compared to low- or mid-rise buildings. The mid-story-isolation of buildings can reduce the response in the upper part of the towers, while it most likely significantly increases the acceleration response just below the isolation layer. This technical report demonstrates that it is possible to obtain efficient structural performance by applying mid-story isolation to a high-rise building over 200 m tall, and that architectural and structural design can be integrated even better using this technique. The realization of this structure demonstrates new possibilities for the application of mid-story isolation in high-rise buildings.
