摘要
The chief aim of this paper is to response to the comment on "Is breast magnetic resonance imaging superior to sonography in gynecomastia evaluation and surgery planning" and reiterate the merit of breast MRI in gynecomastia treatment for its ability to improve our understanding of the anatomical structure of gynecomastia, which, in turn, aids in refining our surgical approach. All preliminary results shed light on the objective superiority of MRI over physical examination and sonography in evaluating the tissue components of gynecomastia. However, due to the inferiority of MRI over ultrasound in terms of cost, time consumption and accessibility, there is still a significant amount of progress to be made before MRI could be widely popularized.
