A curriculum developed by a panel of researchers and various stakeholders based on a set of critical core competancies in the area of agricultural safety and agricultural education is discussed. A field test of the education program was conducted using 166 subjects, in six schools at different geographical areas. Based on a survey, five chapters were chosen as the contents most closely matched the required training topics prescribed by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The curriculum is found to be effective and successful in instructing youth seeking employment in production agriculture.
