摘要
The considerable number of orders placed recently is clearly indicative that an increasing number of ports are finding the mobile crane's inherent flexibility and relatively low capital cost qualities particularly suitable to their needs. Capable of moving from quay to quay covering handling needs as they emerge, and of handling bulk, break-bulk and container cargoes, the mobile crane can often achieve higher utilization rates than rail-mounted, or specialized cranage. Also with low bearing pressures mobile cranes generally do not require major infrastructural modifications. This article discusses the subject in terms of the strength of the equipment in the developing world, demand in developed countries, and equipment designs to meet market needs.
