Special fluid pumps ... Gas-compatible circulation pumps. Multiphase pumps generate gas dispersions for wastewater flotation

Most circulation pumps operate trouble-free only when the feed liquid has low or zero gas content. This article describes a multiphase pump that does not have those limitations. On the contrary, it can be used to prepare gas/liquid dispersions. Due to its special pumping hydraulics (traversing-wheel design), the pump is capable not only of supporting gas/liquid mixtures but also of mixing both phases thoroughly. The implementation of the pump makes wastewater flotation competitive and reduces the number of plant components and the plant's energy consumption.
