This investigation is concerned with how the arrangement of contacts for measuring potential differences affect the electrical conductivity of aluminium sigma in a strong transverse magnetic field H. The mechanism of the sigma heterogeneity of metals is known. This is the first time the effect has been observed in strong fields. The effect discovered depends both on the magnetic field strength and the purity and perfection of the specimen.
