SOFTENING OF CORROSION RESISTING Cr-Co-Ni STEEL IN IRRADIATION.

Comparative investigations into the effect of irradiation temperature on the mechanical properties of Kh18N10T and 000Kh14K13N4M3TVD steels showed that their behavior differs. Electron irradiation causes only slight changes in the mechanical properties of Kh18N10T steel, whereas in 000Kh14K13N4M3TVD steel extensive softening takes place in the irradiation temperature range around 200 degree C. This effect is explained from the viewpoint of occurrence of radiation-stimulated structural and phase changes.
