摘要
This paper discusses microwave propagation characteristics essential to the design of a long-span overwater digital radio system, with a particular focus on reflected wave influence. The paper also offers a fresh look at fading occurrence probability, received power distribution, cross polarization discrimination due to fading and in-band linear amplitude dispersion, since these characteristics have not been made clear for over 60 km path utilizing reflected waves. Propagation tests over a 94 km overwater path in the Kyushu district of Japan show good compatibility with the designed values.
