This paper presents a new method to be used in the preparation of dispersed organic matter for microscopic studies. The organic matter is spread on a glass slide in order to permit all types of microscopic observation (transmitted, reflected or fluorescent light) on a single mount. An example of its application, taken from the Ordovician and Siluro-Devonian sequence of Anticosti island and Eastern Appalachians of Quebec, shows the advantages of this new method over the traditional 'plug' method.
