The paper presents a brief review of the holographic process and a description of interferometric holography (the particular form of the method which is appropos to NDT) and how it can be used to identify defects. It then examines pulsed laser holographic techniques and how they may be used to adapt the holographic process to the manufacturing environment, thereby establishing the method as a viable NDT tool.
