The cold rolling mill complex at Tata Steel's Jamshedpur works

A new cold rolling mill complex with a capacity of 1.2 million t/a has been built at Tata Iron and Steel Company's Jamshedpur works. Thorough project planning and masterminding, continuous benchmarking and monitoring and meticulously organised implementation resulted in a record time of 26 1/2 months from the issuing of the first letter of intent to the inauguration of the whole plant. Many other world and company records were established during the implementation of the project. The equipment comprises a combined pickling and cold rolling line, batch annealers, skin pass mill, two hot dip galvanising lines as well as recoiling and packaging lines.
