Ultrasonic pulses (USP) interact with charge carriers which leads, in a number of cases, to amplification of the USPs and transformation of the ultrasonic waves into acoustoplasma and acoustoelectromagnetic waves. There have been reports of the presence of carriers in films and powders of polymer dieleccrics. In this connection, it may be assumed that it is possible in polymer dielectric films for the carriers to be involved in the transfer of USP energy and the transformation of ultrasonic waves into acoustoplasma waves. The purpose of the present paper is to study the transmission of USPs through samples of a material containing traps filled with carriers. The study was implemented on polycarbonate films.
