Despite the myriad of bus architectures in the 8- and 16-bit industrial-control arena and the entrenched presence of STD Bus products, attention has recently focused on yet another bus design. Prompted by the IEEE ratification of the P1000 specification detailing the bus architecture and by an industrial market demanding DIN-style packaging, the STE Bus seems to be on the verge of a breakthrough into the U. S. market.
