Companhia Suzano de Papel e Cellulose overtook 50% shares of Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD)'s Bahia Sul mill for $320 million. Earlier Suzano had acquired other half of capital shares of the Bahia Sul mill in bleached eucalyptus pulp, newsprint sector. The results clearly depicted the retreat of CVRD from paper and cellulose sector. CVRD was also expected to sell its 51.48% of stake in Cenibra mill.
