The demand for rubber products improved during the second half of 1999, and the prospects for 2000 are impressive. The development of international operations will continue, with several companies of the Finnish rubber industry co-operating on projects abroad. Competition will increase in both tyres and technical rubber goods, and companies must introduce new products at an increasing rate.
