The improvements and developments in the physical basis, methods, and equipment of all main types of geophysical investigations used in engineering surveys are reviewed. Most considerable of them are electrometric observations of landslides, geophysical data bank, machine processing/analysis of parameters. Inasmuch as the geophysical apparatus necessary for engineering surveys for all practical purposes is not being produced by Soviet industry, an alternative to the situation that has been created is to purchase the most complicated models of apparatus from abroad and to develop and create individual geophysical instruments by our own efforts. During the past 3-4 years much has been done in this direction at Gidroproekt: models of portable stations for seismic and logging investigations have been developed and manufactured and new seismological, seismoacoustic, and ultrasonic apparatus has been created.
