Successfully integrating a PC-based data acquisition system involves more than selecting a data acquisition board with the correct number of channels. A complete DAS also involves the proper selection of transducers, signal conditioning hardware, cabling, driver software, and application developnent software. Understanding the role of each element and the interrelationships that make up the system makes building and using PC-based DASs a whole lot easier.
