COMPENSATION OF MARANGONI'S THERMOCAPILLARY EFFECT IN DIRECTIONAL SOLIDIFICATION OF MELTS IN ZERO GRAVITY CONDITIONS.

摘要
The author examines the problem of compensation of the thermocapillary flow formed in the field of the temperature gradient on the free surface of the melt during its directional solidification in zero gravity conditions by means of the concentration-capillary effect associated with the concentration dependence of surface tension. It is shown that the approximates equality of thermo- and concentration-capillary Marangoni's effects can be realized in directional solidification of melts by the Bridgman-Stockbarger method in space experiments at residual acceleration of g less than equivalent to 10** minus **4g//0 (g//0 is gravitational acceleration on Earth) and at high cooling rates.
