摘要
The paper uses a numerical method to calculate the temperature field of a gob of glass in the process of forming, cutting, and falling into the mold. The calculation takes into account the radiative-conductive heat exchange inside the gob and the radiative-convective heat exchange with the surrounding medium. It is established that at the moment when the gob enters the mold it has a nonuniform temperature field which produces a corresponding nonuniformity in the distribution of viscosity, and this in turn affects the distribution of the glass when the article is being molded.
