摘要
The new deinked pulp recently started up by Union Camp Corp. at its Franklin, Va., fine papers mill is a modern kind with all new equipment and a well designed, highly automated production process using 100% post-consumer office waste. A unique aspect of the plant is the workforce with no prior pulp and paper mill operating experience supplying fiber to the market. The facility started up in late December 1994 and after three months was producing more daily tonnage than its 300-tpd design. The plant produces an 85 ISO brightness pulp with a TAPPI dirt count of less than 10. About 50% of production is used in various Union Camp recycled-content paper and paperboard grades produced at Franklin.
