摘要：

The main problems due to utilization of ceramic permanent magnets in dc fractional horse-power motors are pointed out. A new method to design ceramic segments is proposed, which is based on the determination of the magnetic field distribution through the finite-element technique. As an example, a numerical design procedure is given.
