In order to improve the robustness and error resilience of video streaming, a novel adaptive unequal error correction protection scheme based on VLC position rearrangement is proposed in this paper. The scheme partitions original data in MB layer and rearranges them according to respective different importance. Then EREC algorithm translates VLC bit streams into fix length packet structure. Furthermore, sender can adaptive adjust the transmitting bit rates and RCPC coding rates according to the feedback parameter, which is from receiver and reflects the current status of error-prone channel. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme can highly improve the quality of video communication and achieve better performance compared with conventional methods.
